Sports Dinner

Join us June 15 as we host our 1st Annual Sports Dinner at Riverdale Community Centre! This event is hosted by Rivers Curling Club & Riverdale Community Centre.

The purpose of the Sports Dinner is to recognize recreation and contribute to the recreational centre in Riverdale. The evening brings delicious food & cheer, captivating speakers, a rainbow auction and the opportunity to share a fun evening with our community members while contributing to recreation and sport in our Community.

We are setting the bar high this year for future years with our featured speaker; Kaitlyn Lawes! In 2014 Kaitlyn won gold at the Sochi Olympics under Skip Jennifer Jones. Fast forward four years and Kaitlyn is back on the podium accepting Gold for her win in Mixed Doubles Curling at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics.  Adding to her 2018 Olympic Gold Medal win, Kaitlyn also won gold with Jennifer Jones and team at the World Curling Championships. Kaitlyn is proud to be from Winnipeg Manitoba and will present her story at the Sports Dinner in Rivers on June 15th! Our Emcee and additional speaker is the one and only, Resby Coutts. Originally from Melita, Manitoba, Resby is the Chair for Curl Canada and has been involved in the curling world for decades. Resby is currently serving his third year (out of four) term on the Curl Canada Board of Governors. A familiar face to curlers globally, Resby will touch on his relations from his travels covering curling in the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics.

Along with entertainment, there will also be a chance to take home some prizes with our Live Auction and Rainbow Raffle. Sponsorship categories are available for businesses/individuals who wish to contribute to this event.
